I had a slow start to the year of getting out and sketching. Usk Seattle had a meet-up at the newly renovated Washington State Ferry Terminal and I joined up to get some inspiration and encouragement.
The beginning of the year was spent studying clouds as preparations for teaching a workshop later in the year at Sketcherfest in Edmonds.
Heading over to Whidbey Island for some time at Camp Casey. I love these old officers homes above the parade grounds.
Our neighbors are adding an addition to their house and I sat to watch and sketch the concrete pouring of the foundations.
Sketch Break sketches from around downtown Seattle.
My friend Vince and myself travelled to Germany to participate in the EURO Cup soccer matches in Stuttgart. One of our first days as we were getting over jetlag, we went out to Schloss Solitude for a walk and an enjoyable sit in the sun to do a sketch painting.
Another outing we travelled to Beuren and soaked in the baths, afterwards visited Burg Hohenneuffen to have a bite and a sketch before the showers arrived.
One other reason to come to Germany was to tour the different automobile factories, museums and sales centers for Mercedes, Porsche and BMW.
Stuttgart had a number of fan fest areas in the downtown for watching matches on big screens, eating & drinking fest foods/drink, buying EURO 2024 gear, and meeting others from your country. We watched a number of matches at these sites plus enjoyed the atmosphere of a big European tournament.
David, Abby and myself spent an afternoon in Tubingen having lunch and then a coffee break at this small square where we sat under a grand tree while I sketched the view.
